I know most of you seniors are not thinking about pictures as we have had lots of rain this January which is very untypical of Southern California.  However, the rain is going to be bringing you a deal.  Since in January many of my sessions had to be canceled, I am offering a special for Seniors who schedule in February and March.  If you schedule a session and place a collection order in the months of February and March you will receive 100 FREE Mini Cards to share with your family and friends.  And these little mini-cards are great!  The front holds 5 of your favorite images and on the back your personal information.  To give and share with friends.

Gina & Todd’s Engagement!

We are entering that wonderful season of the year again!  When we have lots of engagement pictures and weddings just around the corner.  Oh I had so much fun with Todd and Gina!  They are such a sincere, sweet couple.  I am really looking forward to their upcoming wedding in June.  We took their pictures at El Dorado Regional Park and in the Nature Center at El Dorado.  While we were there, we had the most beautiful fall colored leaves!  It made for some amazing pictures!

I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from their session…

1 Year Old!

I need to write a little thank you to all of my clients who have patiently waited over the holiday season and my personal move.  In addition, we were having website issues as I am sure you may have noticed.  Everything is now home from the holidays, moved and back in order.  Thank you so much for waiting for these pictures!

What an adorable family!  I had the pleasure of taking Jamison’s newborn pictures and I couldn’t believe the little cutie he has grown into.  He is now a year old and as cute as ever.  The Van Kampen Family thought this would also be a great time to update their family picture.  Which is always an option with Moments of Grace sessions. Here they are! Oh how I love that smile!

And here is one of just Jamison.  I love it!

Mom and Dad had these adorable John Deer boots for Jamison to wear continuing with the theme from his birth pictures. (Grandpa is a big John Deere fan) Jamison wasn’t that interested in wearing the boots, he was more interested in eating the boots! :)

Just a quick walk down memory lane here is a picture from Jameson’s newborn pictures!

Here is a sweet moment between mom and son…

On more of the little guy!

I might also mention that Jameson is on the top of the website as the welcome banner.  He took so many great pictures I had a hard time picking!

Rain, Rain go away…

After canceling several sessions this week because of rain–I am ready once again for our dry Southern, California weather.  With the cancelations several sessions on the December calendar have been filled.  So, I have opened up a couple of sessions on the week of Christmas.  You can find these sessions listed above this posting on the Blog.

I also wanted to remind everyone that Tuesday, December 15th is the absolute last day to order before Christmas.  If you have cards or Christmas presents be sure to order quickly.

Thank you,

Julie

Christmas is just around the corner…

Gelbergs40BlogPhotoJames and Sarah are one of those beautiful families I get to take pictures of every year.  I love spending time with them and it has been so fun to see how they have changed over the years.  And they have really grown up this year! Especially James, I think he was a whole foot taller!  Regardless of how they have changed physically, they are still the sweetest kids on the block and have definately brightened my holiday season!

Here are some of my favorites…I really love the picture above.  They have a great relationship and this picture does a good job of showing just a part of their brother-sister bond.
Gelbergs17BlogPhotoMax, their adorable German Shepherd,  managed to make it into a picture this year. :) He is not only cute but incredibly furry!

Gelbergs16BlogPhotoI love this picture!

Sarah always has great ideas for pictures–she climbed right up into the tree for this picture.  I have to say I was skeptical of how it would look, but I love the way it turned out.

Home for the Holidays…

I just bought my ticket home to Wisconsin to be with my family this Christmas!  I am excited to be with family cuddling up in front of the fireplace, drinking coffee, laughing with my beloved sisters, playing with my adorable nephews and niece–it is by far my favorite time of the year!

The Van Ek family has a new home this Christmas.  Todd is our new administrative pastor at Emmanuel Reformed Church.  His family recently moved from Iowa to California–big move.  We have already been so blessed by Todd and his family in just a few months!  Todd has a heart and gifting for church plants which is Emmanuel’s calling and mission.  My husband has been so blessed by his leadership, knowledge, and wisdom.  Together Pat and I have felt like someone has come along-side us in this daunting journey of church planting and has offered support.  Not only has Todd been a huge blessing, but his family is such an encouragement.

The Van Eks wanted a location that would show the city behind them and share with all those they love their new mission.  We choose Signal Hill for our session–which has a beautiful view of the city.  Here are some of my favorites from our session. Van Ek family, thank you for answering the Lord’s calling on your life.  For sacrificing the comforts of home and leaving to purse His plan. I hope you find lots of love and joy in your new home this year. Here are some of my favorites…

We had a beautiful sunset during our shoot.  I love this picture of the whole Van Ek family.

VanEk60BlogPhotoThere is a lot of joy within the Van Ek family–you can see a small piece of it in this picture above.

VanEk50BlogPhotoI love this informal shot we grabbed quickly as we were moving from one spot in the park to the next.  Funny how sometimes those unposed, casual moments are some of my absolute favorite pictures.

VanEk14BlogPhotoThe Van Ek family has a special gift to celebrate every year–four beautiful children.

Here are a couple moments of just the girls–you are so cute together!

Just the Boys

Kids change so quickly, and when you have young, quickly changing kids it is the perfect time to be sending that updated Christmas photo to your friends and family.  The Huerstel family have two adorable boys and they thought this would be the perfect time of year to capture them and their personalities to treasure for years to come.  We met at Huntington Beach Central Park, a large beautiful park in Huntington Beach.  We explored the park together and came of with some great pictures!  I hope you enjoy these–just in time for Christmas presents!

Here are my favorite!  This picture below is SO cute–big brother watching over little brother.

DeLong Family

DeLong19BlogPhoto

The DeLong family took their pictures right at home–and it was perfect for Christmas pictures.  I have been thinking lately that it makes more sense to do in-home family and children sessions, because this is truly where you interact as a family.  It is where most of your memories are created and therefore it makes sense that we would capture your pictures right at home.  It also allows us to capture more traditional pictures like the one above and very nontraditional pictures like the one below!  I love this picture below–it captures the bright personality of their four year old daughter Katie!  She is full of life and joy!

The colors that the De Long picked is great for Christmas. I love the dark blue with red.

Beautiful beach pictures

Arnaldo, Vivi, Ruben are all part of our beloved home church Emmanuel.  They are also part of our church planting team set to go to Compton in January 2010.  We met down at Laguna Beach for our session.  They were all set with their adorable puppy Toto.  This was a new beach for me in Laguna and it was beautiful.  We really had the beach to ourselves since the family had taken off of work for their portrait session. It was ideal.  I tell you what wasn’t ideal!  I had left all of my memory cards at home!  And I didn’t even realize it until I was down on the beach!  Wow!  I always triple  check for cards, but this morning had been different.  My goodness–this was the first time in my three years of shooting that I completely forgot my cards.  I was so embarrassed it was not a bit professional!  However, I can’t tell you how extremely gracious Arnaldo, Vivi and Ruben were to me.  They were so forgiving.  I had to rush up to CVS pharmacy and buy some new cards!  They stayed on the beach and patiently waited.  They were so kind and loving to me in my mistake.  I SO appreciated your hearts and generosity to me on that morning.

Not only are Arnaldo, Vivi, and Ruben loving and gracious to me, they also have huge hearts for mission and loving the lost, hurt, and broken.  They are an amazing gift to our Compton Core Team.  A great blessing to us!  I find it a great privilege to do ministry with you!  I hope that you enjoy these pictures!  I also hope we have some good pictures for you to bring home to mom in Colombia this Christmas!

Here are some of my favorites…
